The Faculty of Economy and Management (FEM) was created in 2004 as a result of the reorganization of the Economics and Engineering Faculty. Three specialized departments are the part of the faculty: Economy and Management, Management and Information Technologies, Public and Municipal Administration. The FEM teaching staff is a perfect combination of the successful specialists with high scientific, practical and pedagogical training and young scientists as well.
Nowadays FEM has a powerful educational structure with the developed material and technical facilities and high scientific and personnel potential. At the faculty there is a multilevel system of reliable and efficient training of highly qualified personnel. The training on magistracy and postgraduate study programs is available at all departments. The educational process organically combines the traditional and innovative (interactive and distant) technologies and training methods, at the same time a range of educational services of the faculty is extending from year to year. More than a half of students of the faculty have only good and excellent marks. At different times the best students became nominal scholars of the Russian President, the governor of Irkutsk region, the mayor of Bratsk.
Special attention at FEM is paid to the scientific researches in which the trainees actively take part in. The relevance and quality of the scientific developments allow student's youth to participate in the Olympic Games of different levels, annual student's conferences held by the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Bratsk State University" and other higher education institutions of Russia. Final and research works of students have taken awards in the contests of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
To improve the practical training of the bachelors at the faculty the cooperation with the enterprises and the organizations is being carried out. The negotiation of the cooperation contract has served as the beginning of integration model forming for the interaction of the University and PJSC "Sberbank of Russia" of Bratsk department of Irkutsk department No. 8586 which allows performing target training of the bachelors oriented to the execution of specific production objectives with a binding to the habitual residence of the graduate.
For years of existence thousands of specialists have been successfully trained by the forces of its faculty staff that created the personnel capacity of our region, and also other areas of Eastern Siberia, Buryatia, Primorskiy and Khabarovsk regions. Many graduates hold executive positions at the enterprises of Bratsk and other cities, in local governments and regional authorities. About 40 graduates have defended Master's and Doctoral dissertation thesis.
